Introduction

What is DicomToolbox ?

DicomToolbox is a multi-purpose DICOM graphical user interface application, built on the Java DICOM toolkit and extending it towards an end-user application. DicomToolbox contains some reusable high-level components that are required in various DICOM related graphical user interfaces.

Features

DicomToolbox currently wraps the following high-level DICOM functionalities in resuable components:

Query/Retrieve SCU through a Query/Retrieve Dialog with embedded Storage SCP
Modality Worklist SCU with the Worklist Dialog
Internal Local Exam database visualized with the Local Exams pane supporting arbitrary DICOM attributes
Support for importing individual image,folders and DICOM media into remote DICOM devices with the Store Wizard Dialog
Tree based File Explorer
DICOM Media explorer

User Interface

The DicomToolbox UI is built upon a docking framework and consists of a number of panes and a central document area for viewing content. DicomToolbox will initialize with a default layout that can be rearranged at any time by dragging the different panes and toolbars to other locations or hiding them or making them visible. When the application exits, the UI state is saved.
